Australian Ethical Investment Building Tour
Our award-winning Six-star Green Star head office building incorporates design, construction and operational practices that significantly reduce Australian Ethical’s environmental footprint and improve staff wellbeing.
The building was purchased in February 2006, and extensive refurbishments and fit-outs were undertaken which involved:
Australian Ethical Investment Building Tour:
- reusing and recycling existing building materials
- installing energy saving features such as green electricity, double-glazed windows and insulation
- installing water efficient features such as solar water heating and rainwater tanks
- natural and energy-efficient lighting and ventilation inclusions.
The building will be open for tours only on Sustainable House Day, 11 September 2011. The tours will run at 11am and 11:30am and last for about 25 minutes. No bookings are necessary.

Sustainable House Day at Crace— Sunday 11 September
Markets, talks, tips and Jane Hall—the queen of sustainable interior design—are all part of the celebrations for Sustainable House Day at Crace on Sunday 11 September.
Join us from 10am to browse through our mini markets, with stalls from not-for-profit and community groups including Lifeline, the Country Women’s Association of Gungahlin and the Gungahlin Regional Community Service. There’ll be a showcase of lifestyle and household products along the recycle, reuse and renew theme, including Global Worming’s mini worm farms, desk-top herb gardens and mini composting systems, natural hair care and baby products by the Greenhouse Emporium, and Naturally Clean environmentally friendly household products.
Grab a sausage sizzle from the Lions Club of Gungahlinbefore heading into the Crace Demonstration Village homes for some great advice from our panel of sustainability experts from 11am.
And at 11.30am and 12.30pm, Jane Hall from Network Ten’s 7pm Project and The Circle will be on hand to show you how to turn unwanted trash into decorator heaven with workshops on design and decorating for the home.
