NSW Government
This year the NSW Government’s Department of Environment, Climate Change and Water (DECCW) is delighted to be supporting Sustainable House Day.

“Household sustainability is moving into the mainstream as people realise that they can really make a difference.” said Lisa Corbyn, Director General of DECCW.

“Sustainable House Day helps show people how easy it can be to make your home more sustainable, saving money and reducing our impact on the environment.

“It’s also a great opportunity for us to showcase the many programs we run in NSW to help, including the black balloon Save Power campaign,” Ms Corbyn said.

Save Power
The Save Power campaign provides tips and tools to help you use less electricity. Save Power shows how to make changes that will have an impact straight away – on your power bills and our environment.

See how many black balloons your home and workplace produces and how much power, and money, you can save at www.savepower.nsw.gov.au Power also provides information for business and community groups about rebates and the many NSW Government energy efficient programs.

Save
Visit www.savepower.nsw.gov.au for more information about how you can save power and make a Power Pledge to lower the number of black balloons you produce.

NABERS
How sustainable is your home? Use your energy and water bills to calculate your NABERS Energy and Water rating out of 5 stars and see how you compare with others.  Go to www.nabers.com.au.

NABERS (the National Australian Built Environment Rating System) is a joint initiative of the Australian, State and Territory Governments.

Eligible households get a free home power assessment by a trained energy expert, Power Savings Kit and a personal Power Savings Action Plan – showing you more ways to save power and money around the home.

To be eligible for the program you must be a recognised energy utility hardship customer or hold a nominated Concession Card.
