Solar Shop Australia joins forces with Sustainable House Day 2009
Solar Shop Australia – the leading installer of grid connect solar systems across Australia and an expert in the field of all things solar – is the new presenting sponsor for Sustainable House Day 2009 to be held across Australia on Sunday 13 September 2009.
Now in its eighth year, more than 150 homes will open their doors to the public on Sustainable House Day, showing ways to make living and working spaces more environmentally friendly.
Solar Shop Australia’s Managing Director Adrian Ferraretto says it is a natural fit for Solar Shop Australia and Sustainable House Day to join forces and promote the benefits of sustainable living.
“Sustainable House Day is a great opportunity for Solar Shop Australia to highlight the benefits of solar energy as a way to reduce the reliance on fossil fuels and to make homes more sustainable,” said Mr Ferraretto.
“Australia is fortunate to have such great amounts of sunshine, but it seems that we are not fully capitalising on the environmental and financial benefits that can be obtained through solar energy.”
Solar Shop Australia is hoping Sustainable House Day 2009 will encourage more Australians to take up solar powered electricity and make Australia a “greener place to live”.
“Australia is lagging behind many European countries with only 0.3 per cent of Australian homes having domestic solar systems installed, while across Europe it is becoming a common sight to see solar panels on houses despite countries such as Germany having only half the sunlight of Australia,” said Mr Ferraretto
